t18c97 Posted January 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2022 I've seen some posts from folks that have been tested positive while on board a cruise. They mention being segregated to a section of the ship from others and then disembarked as soon as possible. But while they're waiting for that to happen is Celebrity providing any of the approved treatments to help mitigate the virus or just trying to keep you from infecting others? There is quite a difference between simply testing positive on board versus being very sick and needing medical treatment or heaven-forbid emergency treatment. There are new COVID oral anti-virals like the Pfizer drug Paxlovid just approved by EUA in the US. Ships likely do not have this available (yet). Other approved treatments like monoclonal antibodies administered by i.v. injection will likely be administered at the hospital at the next port. canderson Posted January 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2022 Pallative treatment only. They do not have infusion theraputics (e.g. monoclonal) onboard nor are the several theraputic 'pills' available yet.
