Which ship?

Joy. I would have thought it would be the same on all ships. I just didn't know if we should be looking for a particular line to get in for boarding. We have always just gotten the mini suites.

I asked because some NCL ships do not have a Haven so those suites have lots of perks.   The Joy has both suites and a Haven.   I was recently told by numerous sources that most of the suite perks on the Joy have been taken away except priority boarding as they board after Haven and high latitudes members.   Just inquire when you check in at the Port.

Would love for you to report back your experience as we recently had suite booked on the Joy but changed it to a Haven when the Haven prices dropped.  We also always stayed in the mini suites with large balcony previously.

Thanks. I upgraded to the SC from the club mini and lost my free laundry and treats. 😔 But the stateroom and balcony were larger and I figured in case we wind up spending more time in room due to covid it was worth the extra $'s. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Do you still get breakfast and lunch in La Cucina?

We sailed on the Joy to Alaska during her first US season. We got the meals, but to butler (and there fore no treats). The meals and upgraded bathroom amenities were the only perks when we sailed.

I drove NCL crazy with this.  After 6 different answers from NCL agents and a very lengthy letter to corporate, I finally emailed VP of customer service and have the answer I was asking.  You get priority embark/debark and a couple of room service free.  There is no break/lunch in La Cucina.  They did add some OBC for my troubles.  Oh, and a mattress pad for my sister.  You do still have access to pre-concierge

As per the VP Guest Service, their response was:

“We regret to learn there was an issue with our website, much of what you detail below is correct.  To note, your suite does receive concierge service, priority embarkation and debarkation, upgraded bedding and delivery of food and beverage two times a week.”

Ok.  I'm going to restate this for my own benefit, because I'm confused and maybe very disappointed.    If, say on the Pearl or Jewel...or Dawn...I book a suite, rear deck 10 or one of the family ones port or starboard, for boarding do I no longer proceed to the room marked haven  (or suite) for check-in and then snacks as I await being escorted up to the specialty restaurant for lunch?  True or have I misunderstood?  And, do  suite guests still get specialty restaurant (previously at Modernos)  breakfast and lunch privileges'?  What's the facts here?   I'm confused.

I think that only the Joy has concierge suites, so I guess this thread was for those type of suites.  We have a 2 bedroom family suite.  The other is called a penthouse concierge suite.  I am not sure, but it is quite possible that the “S” suites on the smaller class ships have different amenities.

Here is a list of the amenities on the Joy by cabin type -

I noticed the date on this list is June 2021.  However, when I original booked my Joy Suite in November 2021, it did include butler service and breakfast/lunch in La Cucina as perks.  Those benefits were taken away in early December 2021 without any notification.   Like Susique, I also did receive some OBC to make up for it.

I received this list from NCL in November;  was in a chat with an online rep.  I think there was a disconnect between what was on their website for booking, and what was on this "insider" sheet.  I hope that everyone who has this issue can get the OBC as you were able to do.

I had to cancel my Joy trip in early January, now we are booked on the Dream in April.  I also have the amenity spreadsheet for that ship.  Since there is no Haven, the Suites have most of the amenities that are given to Haven guests.

Best wishes to all you future cruisers!!

Suites on the Jewel class and Dawn class ships still receive all the same perks as the Haven, just no Haven access.  When checking in at the port though, tell them you're Haven.  Otherwise they don't understand that there are other suites and will send you to the regular check-in line.

I believe the date was December 7, 2021 in the afternoon.   The amenities were on the website in the morning and then were gone in the afternoon.

I take it you also booked one of these suites before the change?

Not sure what you are asking.  If it was "trouble" getting an answer, then heck yeah.  It took 2 months to get it.  No one at corporate knew what the website said.  Pre-concierge said no one noticed it until I emailed a screen shot to them.  Everything it listed before they changed it was the same as suites in the smaller ships, except you did not get haven access.  It even listed breakfast/lunch in a speciality restaurant. It was a mission, and I did not give up. They said they gave me a small amount of OBC for pointing it out to them.  I think it was just to get rid of me.

I will second this reply.  It took countless phone calls and emails just to reach a conclusion.   Again,  we were never notified about this big change and the NCL phone representatives were clueless.   We never should of spent any amount of time on the phone for clarification.

You are welcome.    Hopefully,  it will be a quick resolution as a few months have gone by.  Let us know your outcome.

As you probably know, this big change, it is covered in the T&A's for all cruises. They do not need to give us anything, the fact that they did, is a bonus.
