For Steve,

The CDC has issued a level 4 travel alert for cruising and most of the Caribbean islands.  My  IMG policy, purchased after the travel alert was issued addresses this in #25.  Does that mean I have no coverage because of the stated exclusion? Thank you for your expertise.

Hi luv4cruises,

First, you are not looking at the Exclusions. You are looking under the "Other Covered Events" portion of the Trip Cancellation section. The Exclusions section doesn't mention this.

Next, the CDC level doesn't matter because that policy wording refers to the United States Department of State levels you find at:

 https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html .

@iamtrustworthy If I'm interpreting your answer right, that means @luv4cruises would be covered IF the U.S. State Dept. issues a Level 4 travel advisory and they wanted to cancel?

Hi RKBA,

It depends when the travel warning is issued and when they are leaving on their trip. If it meets the rules, they are covered.

If a travel alert or travel warning for levels four (4) and higher or, an evacuation order or, travel ban is issued, for cities listed on Your itinerary after Your Effective Date for Trip Cancellation, to a destination specifically listed on Your Itinerary. The travel alert/warning, etc. must occur within thirty (30) days of the scheduled Departure Date.
