When you use the credit does it only cover room charges and not tax and port fees? For instance if you have a $1000.00 credit and the new cruise is $800, is it true you only get to use $800.00 and fees and port charges must come out of your pocket? In essence you lose 200 bucks in the transaction.

You cannot use fcc to cover taxes and fees, gratuities or other costs.  It can only be applied to the cruise fare.

You do not lose $200 on your initial cruise taxes and fees were refunded.

The $200 will be reissued as another fcc.
