Princess Calee Posted March 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2022 Does a passenger have a choice of seats, and as a couple, are you guaranteed you will be seated together? We are considering Door-to-Door option. Are there any issues of which we need to be aware? Also, is there a 52 mile limit from home to airport and airport to home? Thanks so much for your advice. Excited about trying out Silversea.

Completely depends on the airline involved and the specific fare rules for the purchased ticket. Which you won't know until after you are ticketed. And FWIW, on any flight, arranged by a cruiseline or otherwise, you are never guaranteed you will be seated together. Any airline, any ticket. Operational requirements may force seat changes, and just because you were together doesn't mean you will be.
Rare Gourmet Gal Posted March 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2022 Some airlines, like BA charge for seat assignments unless you have status. It helps to get the reservation number and/or ticket number and book directly with the airline ASAP. I will check the seats available before committing to any ticket to make sure there are good seating options.

Sometimes they assign you seats…but this is after your flight is ticketed, which I think is about 75 days before the cruise. You’ll then have a record locator number and you can go on the airline’s website and look at your booking and seat assignments — and change them if you like. You won’t be able to do that until after the flight is ticketed by Silversea.
