Well I got a lot more packing done last night than I hoped or expected. Feeling less stressed today!

I did pack way too many clothes though. I’ll go back through and try to be a bit more reasonable. Do I need sandals in every color? Probably not. 5 purses? Definitely not… 😂

I also found my packing list from 2014 for all the “other” stuff and there were a few gems on there I’m glad I was reminded of.

A few appointments, some work, and finishing touches, then tonight - WE FLY!

Can't wait to tag along! Hope to get back to cruising soon, if that ever becomes possible for those of us 🙂

I’m participating in the Cabin Gift Exchange with our fb group and so lucky that a friend of mine helped me gather everything this week - she’s putting them into cute little gift bags as I type from the salon chair! I can’t remember if I mentioned but I took my son to SoCal from Thursday - Monday so my week started hectic. Unpacking, laundry, repacking, work, getting him set up for while I’m gone… so I’m very grateful for friends like mine!

Here’s what everyone’s getting. I’m from Napa (7th generation in fact!) so I of course wanted to gift a few staples from here.

Soap from the Napa Soap Company, Chardonnay Brittle from a local chocolate shop, wood ornaments with the famous “grape crusher” statue, a variety from a local nut company (everyone will get something different), then New Mexican Red Chile Powder from Rancho Gordo (also local).

So I just remembered that you get quite a discount on parking at SFO if you book ahead of time. I usually forget…

These are all the different options. I’m flying out of T1. I opted for ParkFAST at the discount. I have a thing going with my leg (likely central canal stenosis) so I need something close, especially with hauling suitcases. I used to park in the long term garage and take the bus. During covid, it was a testing site so they had everyone parking in the regular garage at the airport. I learned I like it better, though not always worth the extra cost.

Are you in one of the double queen balcony rooms? I think they’re a touch bigger than the standard.

I didn’t book the hotel yet. Trying to decide between this one or Homewood Suites across the way.

Welp, I didn’t think through these gifts very well. 😂

They’re each almost 2 lbs and there are 12.

I’m overweight… and so are these bags!

I tried every which way to fit into suitcases - took things out, rearranged, switched around what’s in both suitcases… nada.

I now have a third, though small, suitcase which costed $150 (same as overweight fee, I should note).

What was frustrating is these will not be there on the way home, so the space and weight will be available. I couldn’t get one of the suitcases under 50 though. Everything I did, they were both about 52 lbs. Dah well. Guess I can do some shopping!

So… ParkFAST wasn’t that fast. It’s in Area D. I had to walk over to C… then B… then A…. then through a tunnel. Passing cars along the way. Will have to remember that next time.

The new Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is nice. It’s recently opened. Lots of space, creative seating areas, impressive restaurants and shops. They have three restrooms - women, men, and all.

I sat at a bar (though not AT the bar) and after 10 mins, left. Tito’s will have to wait!!

I used Clear even though there was literally no need. But it saved me the zig zags at least.

All this for one person. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m hoping the small will fit in the big on the way back. And I thank Solgaard for making the handles on their small and large bags the same height.

A random upside down dead tree. 🤷🏻‍♀️

They haven’t allowed single-use plastics at SFO for years. All waters are in aluminum bottles. All other beverages in cans of glass bottles.

Boarding time!

Seat 10F. Any time I can cross my legs, I’m thankful (I’m 6’ tall).

If I’m still awake, Tito’s and tonic in flight. I’m likely falling asleep shortly though.

See you in Florida!

On this same cruise in April.  Struggling to find a reasonable and interesting excursion for La Romana.  Traveling with a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a <12 year old).

Any recommendations from anyone’s experience on this thread would be great.  Open to any excursion provider.
