bigrednole Posted March 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2022 Assuming everything is on time, I expect we will get to our hotel around 7PM. Wife will not be out late but daughter will stay up pretty late with me. Obviously walking around with me she will be fine, but what about going into a bar/restaurant on or near Bourbon St? She definitely is not drinking but also not going to be left alone either.

I believe the minimum age to even be admitted to a bar in New Orleans is 18, even though you cant be served until your are 21. You will most likely be relegated to hotel lounges and the like with a 16 year old-- the bars on Bourbon St at that hour aren't going to admit her.
bigrednole Posted March 3, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted March 3, 2022 Maybe I should have prefaced more as the restaurants and not specifically bars. We will just have to play it by ear when there. May just be able to see what is around in the streets.
JeninIndy Posted March 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) We’ll be there in a couple weeks with an 11 and 8 year old. We’re checking to see which restaurants have kids menus, as that’s usually a sign kids/people under 21 are welcome. We’ll probably explore, but I think our plan to check out Mulate’s since it’s near the pier, has music, and appears to be all ages. Have a fun time with your daughter!
