BTW - Sky is permitting smoking in casino. Ugh!

Yeah the Princess website removed the "no smoking in the casino" language from the website to match what's been happening on the ships.  Was really hoping that having smoke free casinos would stick around.

Wearing it outdoors it was like 50% because St. Thomas requires them, regardless of vaccination status. I only glanced at the beach and not many seemed to be wearing them.

Admittedly not every resident was wearing one  either but most seemed to be so I figured I wouldn’t be a stereotypical tourist and follow the rules.

well if the residents won't wear them how come the cruise passengers have to.

A lot more residents were wearing them than cruisers though. That’s why I said most seemed to be. People had to wear masks in the past yet some didn’t, but that’s not really an excuse. And it’s still the policy for the island and many stores. Lots of signs here and there about requiring a mask before entering.

NOOOOOOOOO.  😭

What were they thinking?!!  Oh well.  I guess I won’t be visiting the casino this trip.

And voice your opinion about it on the post cruise survey.

Did they test all the passengers once the cruise was under way?  The Princess website states that certain cruises are subject to en-route testing, but it sounds like that is the exception and not the rule.  I ask because if the people who are Covid+ are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, why would they think to self-administer a test to themselves?

I'm wondering if Princess is using the Medallions for contact tracing.  If they find a positive crew member or passenger, I'm sure they could find close contacts through the Medallions and test/quarantine those people.  Just a guess on my part, and I'm not against it.  Think it would be a good tool to control outbreaks.
