I had the new Pearl Island Beach Day with Lunch excursion booked today, but after getting a little too much sun yesterday and not feeling the greatest after breakfast this morning, I decided to sit this one out and spend the day on the ship. I ended up having a great day.

I spent about two hours on the Serenity Deck (while attempting to stay protected from the sun) and got some reading in.

The Food and Drink Trivia, hosted by Ramon aka "Noodles" was difficult. Myself and three other teams tied with 8/20 each. I lost the tiebreaker about the number of types of beer that are recognized by the World Brewers Association. Hint. It's not a small number! The winning team guessed 12 and the actual answer was 132.

I did better on Carnival 50th Trivia, scoring 10/20, which was good enough for second.

Not exactly crowded this afternoon...

Mostly sunny, with air temps in the low 80s. This is the first time in two cruises I've seen the dome open. I was beginning to wonder if it was stuck, but it does indeed open when the weather warrants. Sadly, we'll be headed back to a very chilly Baltimore on Sunday, and the dome will once again be closed.

So it does work! We had great weather as well last cruise and they didn't seem to budge it at all, just left the one section open that I'm told is due to the smoke from Guy's.

It is still open this evening, but I am guessing that it will be closed for our last sea day tomorrow as the temperature already seems to be dropping. I wish I could book the B2B for next week!

One of the best aspects of sailing the Spirit class ships is that they almost never feel crowded. We are sailing with 2,141 passengers, or 101% of lower berth capacity, yet there is plenty of space for everyone. These photos were taken after sailing from Freeport.
