Rare TiogaCruiser Posted March 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2022 We’re going to be in Loreto in just a few weeks. It’s our first time, and our first choice for a shorex (the mission) is booked. Does anyone have suggestions for a DYI day in Loreto?
byrdbrain55 Posted March 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2022 You can pay for a tour to take you over to Isla Coronado for snorkeling and to see the sea lions. It is a beautiful little island in the Marine Park (sanctuary). There were lots of boats offering tours to go out there. We also enjoyed sitting at the bar at the Giggling Dolphin. If you head toward La Mision Loreto hotel, turn at Calle Benito Juarez (the street just before you reach the hotel) and the Giggling Dolphin is about a block and half up the street on the left. The "bar" is an old boat that you can sit around the edges. You can "bicycle" your own margaritas and it is just a fun place to spend a quiet afternoon. Amazing Mojitos and Margaritas there. La Mision Loreto hotel is also very pretty.
atobols Posted March 26, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2022 We booked a tour going out to Isla Coronado. We did some snorkeling (gear and wetsuits were included) and then we did a tour around the island to see the dolphins and sea lions, then we went to a secluded beach area where we had lunch and did some relaxing on the beach. We were there in December and the water was pretty cold. I really needed that wetsuit! The boat ride was chilly and the waves made for a pretty bumpy ride. It was warm and comfortable once we hit the beach area. My family enjoyed all of it.

I wouldn't have been able to handle it with my shorty, but I really don't like cold water. My husband and 15 year old son were fine. We went scuba diving a couple of days later in Cabo and I found that to be much more comfortable.
