Navigator April 1-8 Bridgetown - Live Cruise Report

Recommended Posts

All, sorry I'm late with my next post! Been busy (good busy 😀). I'll do a double post this afternoon. To answer a few short questions,  I have not seen the cruise director the entire time. And I'm not sure how many are on board, but I'll find out today.

Hey folks! So where I left off last time was dinner time. We went to Setti Mari which ended up being phenomenal. It wasn't hard getting a table at all. They start you out with some amazing bread and "mini apps" and then you can get more apps at the buffet style table. The meatball quiche stood out to me among the apps. Then for our mains the best was my friend's Veal scallopine marsala which was just so perfect. After dinner I played some slots, which I would normally never do but I had a gambling itch and they had no dealers for card games. I'm not gonna lie, that is quite disappointing. The next time they have dealers will be the 6th...ouch. That said I actually made some money on slots so that was very fun!

The next day we started the day with our first excursion: whale and dolphin safari! They told us up front there were no guarantees but they had an 85% success rate of seeing dolphins OR whales. Well, they were good at their jobs for sure because we got to see 2 sperm whales! Amazing!!

We came back to the ship, ate a quick lunch by the pool, hung in the pool and hot tub, and then did an assortment of activities again like dice curling, ladder golf, and of course trivia.

Dinner was at Prime 7. It was great but it's a lot of food and it takes too long. I get that it's intentional as they are trying to make it a big deal, but I prefer more of a traditional dining experience. Me and 1 buddy had the filet and crab legs and my other friend got the Porterhouse. I got the 14 layer chocolate cake and my friend got the cheesecake. The cheesecake was epic. But all was very very good!

At night we went to a great show. I forget the title but essentially it was a singing show where they sang all the old Broadway favorites. It was much better than I expected and I can't wait to see another show.

That sums up Sunday!

1 hour ago, travel with friends said:

It has been posted on facebook Regent social site that the next cruise that was to start this friday has been cancelled due to covid of staff members. Has there been any talk of this on board?

Yes, no casino dealers have been available for 5 days. The spa has been a little short staffed. And tonight they closed Setti Mari and Prime 7. That is the only thing affected thus far. I heard about the next cruise canceling and feel very bad for those looking forward. I'm hoping they have contained this issue. It seems to he mostly along crew...not many passengers affected. The staff is very rigid about wearing masks in the presence of guests, but likely not below deck. I suspect that could be an issue. The crew has still been amazing and it's a testament to them that all is still well and joyful on board for passengers.
