luv2ndhalf Posted April 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2022 We currently sail on Celebrity in a Royal suite. After our last cruise, we talked about shaking it up a bit and trying a midsize line (different opportunities for itineraries). We are in our late 50’s and early 60’s. I’d love to hear input on these lines! Appreciate it!
CruiserBruce Posted April 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2022 I am interested in the replies to your question. As nobody has replied, you could start by reading on the forums for each cruise line, and perhaps the reviews of some of the ships. 1
Rare Hlitner Posted April 12, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2022 Luxury lines are a different experience than a large mass market ship. On Celebrity you are like the person who has an expensive home in a middle class neighborhood. On a luxury line it is like living in a spacious upscale neighborhood. At the risk of sounding snobbish we do find our fellow passengers and crew more interesting on the luxury lines. And a big plus for many are the few or no children/ teens. We are on Seabourn now (for a month) with zero kids/teens. Since there is no kids program this is the norm. Hank
MBP&O2/O Posted April 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2022 I agree with the previous post. We have only ' luxury 'cruised with Silversea, but IMHO their standards are declining, and that is - again my opinion - due to corporate mismanagement and cost cutting. Staff on board are great but they struggle at times. The new pricing structure has upset a few folk as well. Our next one is Seabourn.
