Looking at the AIS, it seems Queen Elizabeth and HMS Queen Elizabeth are meeting off Gibraltar.

Very interesting. Thanks for that. That does raise the question what QE is doing stopped off Gibraltar. She's been there a bit over an hour now. Perhaps a medical evacuation since there is a vessel described as a "Rescue Operation" vessel alongside.

Yes, I think that's right. She hasn't stopped just to greet her namesake, but more likely for someone to be taken off.

I was on board QE the first time they met in 2017 in the Moray Firth.

Facebook post confirming QE was performing a medical evacuation. Looks like she's back underway now presumably heading to Cartagena where she's scheduled to be tomorrow.

Interestingly, they may be about to meet again, under cover of darkness. The warship is lurking near Gibraltar for some reason, and QE is approaching the Straits.
