Bermuda on Emancipation Day

Has anyone been in Bermuda on Emancipation Day? 
Just found out that our ship we be docked in Bermuda for this Holiday.
I wonder if anything will be open.

BOTH the Thurs July 28th and Fri July 29th are public holidays here in Bermuda. So, you better want to go shopping on the day you arrive in Bermuda because a lot of stores will be shut on the two holidays or open for limited hours. I'm sure many souvenir stores in the Dockyard Mall will be open to the cruise ship passengers.

In addition to shops being closed the beaches will be crowded. 

 

On both days there will be cricket matches. If I was there those days I would consider attending. I think it would be interesting.

I was there, docked in St George during the big cricket match on those days and everything is closed. But the whole town has a huge festival which was great.
