WESTEAST Posted May 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2022 We've always referred to it as a Caesar and often heard it called a Bloody Caesar. FYI, the Caesar was invented in 1969 by restaurant manager Walter Chell in Calgary, Alberta. What distinguishes it from a Bloody Mary is the inclusion of clamato. PSR Posted May 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2022 Love 'em! In January tried to get one at a hotel bar in San Diego...no Clamato on hand; maybe we can blame it on the pandemic???🙄
RD64 Posted May 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2022 But is it Mott’s? There is a big difference between Mott’s and other brands.
Rare desibee Posted May 5, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2022 I didn't know that clamato juice besides Mott's even existed!
RD64 Posted May 5, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2022 Desibee Once on Holland America they had a Bloody Caesar event - I was very excited. However, one Caesar made with some type of random Clamato was more than enough.
Robjame Posted May 5, 2022 #9 Share Posted May 5, 2022 Because I love Caesars: A Caesar is a Bloody Mary with clam juice. ‘Clamato is a brand name by Motts. Make your own mix with tomato juice, clam juice, lemon, Worcestershire sauce, S&P., hot sauce. (Clam juice? Drain from a can of clams and make clam fettuccine with the clams) When we lived in Florida several bars made their own Caesar mix, sometimes with a clam added as a garnish. This is a very noble pursuit - the search for the perfect Caesar. ‘Motts is a beginner mix😀. Look for Walter Craft Caesar mix, made in Vancouver. You will never go back.
Rare cruisingxpert Posted May 5, 2022 #10 Share Posted May 5, 2022 If you want an even better Caesar, use this seasoning mixwith your Clamato juice. I know it says it's a Bloody Mary seasoning but it makes a great Caesar. I like to add horseradish.
