Charlotte Amalie shore excursion suggestions?

Royal is stopping here in a few weeks. We've never been to Charlotte Amalie. Any suggestions for things we should do as our 1st visit to the island? How about private excursions companies? Most of the one with royal is full.

Thanks!

Your ship probably offers an excursion that includes those activities, but you can do them independently for more flexibility.

Both cruise ports offer shopping at the dock, but if you want something specific you should ask in advance so someone can tell you where to find it. There will be taxis at both docks offering to take you to a beach, but you need to specify that you want to snorkel. More than likely they will take you to Coki or Sapphire Beach. Magens has little underwater life. All 3 beaches offer chair and snorkel rentals and have food and drink.

The taxi rates are supposed to increase soon, so check back later to see if new rates are in effect.

Jumping in on the thread.  We'll be in port from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM in February and would like to do some snorkeling, beach lounging, and shopping (mostly the dear wife).  Any recommendations?

Looks like just 2 ships scheduled to dock in Crown Bay from 7 - 4 on 2/9 but still 10k day visitors…

The better snorkeling beaches are on the East End, so you’d want to take a ~30 minute taxi to one of those beaches (Coki, Sapphire, or Secret Harbor). Our choice would be Sapphire - larger beach, less busy vibe than Coki, not as tight as Secret Harbor…Taxis are usually available for your return…

Shopping in Charlotte Amalie on the way back, or after showering take another taxi into town…

Another option is Brewers Bay which is much closer to he ship. We’ve not snorkeled Brewers, but have read several good recent reviews on that. Then you could hit your cabin shower before heading into town…
As MS411 noted in another thread, you’d need the driver to return to Brewers for you, or call a taxi. She shared that info here -
