nycteacher Posted June 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2022 Hi everyone. I've been reading how NCL is challenged to get Pride of America properly staffed for Hawaii itineraries. As a result, restaurants and other service points are being closed, and guest capacity is being limited. Is anyone noticing any staffing shortages on other NCL ships/itineraries? I'm sailing on the Gem in August and wondering if I should expect venues to be closed, or to wait a bit longer in bars/restaurants because of staffing. On the flip side, I wouldn't necessarily mind if my itinerary had limited guest capacity. Thanks for your insight!
Rare KeithJenner Posted June 11, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2022 The POA issue is specific to that ship, as they need US staff. Other ships have less staff than usual, but are also running at lower capacity. We were on the Jade in April and the staff/passenger ratio was better than pre-covid. We booked an October cruise, and I know that's 100 days out but was wondering if the cruises had been at full capacity. This will be our 2nd cruise on the getaway, and I'm excited! back to cruising! argyll1881 Posted June 11, 2022 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2022 No, I think it was 1400 passengers. Very light.

We are on her July 23rd out of Port Canaveral and I fully expect at least 85% full if not higher.

nycteacher Posted June 12, 2022 Author #9 Share Posted June 12, 2022 Thanks for the updates. I'm glad to hear there won't be any venue closures. Fingers crossed I won't be on a full capacity sailing.
