First time shareholder OBC question

This will be the first time sailing with shareholder OBC.  I seem to recall reading in the fine print that it cannot be used for "gratuities".  In your experience, is this true?  I'm used to my OBC just going against my ship account in general. Will they actually tease out the 18% auto tip on drinks, daily crew appreciation etc.?  Just want to know what to expect. For clarity, we are NOT sailing with a princess plus package.

It all goes on your folio as you have experienced - and they will take out the "tips" until your OBC is gone and you'll start owing 🙂  They have had that wording forever and it's never really been valid.

OBC, any OBC, is entered as a line item credit in your folio.

All charges are entered into your folio as they are made as line item debts. Charges include anything that is debted against your account e.g., grats, Wi-Fi, drinks, tokens for the laundry. Anything.

The debts accumulate and reduce your OBC dollar for dollar until your OBC is used up. After that you start to owe Princess real money!
