Maybe it's different on other cruise lines, and that is what you have seen.

 

When I have been waiting for someone to come off the crew gangway, there is a constant stream

of crew coming and going.

 

On the fourth hand, you would want to show all the busy people on some tv show.

Not very interesting to show someone off duty sleeping, doing laundry, or waiting 

in line at Ross.

 

One of the funniest ... I was at publix, and they wouldn't let the girl ahead of me buy wine,

because she didn't have a driver's license, to verify her age.

 

The cashier actually asked if she had an I-95...

 

She did, and all was well.

As a courtesy, I am attaching a few pictures of Virgin crew with time off during Miami turn-around.

 

There were so many waiting at the time I passed by, that they didn't all fit on the shuttle bus.

 

Fortunately, another bus came by shortly after.

 

Even if a crew member is prevented from leaving the ship by CBP, ILO regulations still require rest periods,

so no crew member is going to work through the entire day.

 

I spent a few hours with a crew member who previously worked for Princess.

 

Sorry for the delay.  I saw the sign as I was driving away a month or two ago, but it took a while to

For the folks here claiming that crew never has time off on a turn-around day.
