We'll be doing this with Viking, Amsterdam to Basel. We board on a Tuesday. Typically what is boarding time? It's my understanding it varies based on river traffic. Just trying to button down a quick tour in the morning prior to getting on board. TIA

  • Host Jazzbeau changed the title to Viking Rhine Getaway - boarding times?

According to the Viking website, you'll  have as long as you want because they won't cast off to Kinderdyk till the following morning.

In fact, the Itinerary on the website encourages passengers to explore Amsterdam in the afternoon.

You can check in anytime, they'll have a limited buffet lunch for early arrivers. Dinner is served at 7pm

Arrive in Amsterdam, then transfer to your ship. After boarding, the afternoon is yours to relax or explore the city on your own. If your arrival schedule permits, you may wish to visit the Rijksmuseum, or the van Gogh Museum next door.
