wintertexancruiser Posted July 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2022 Hello all! I just noticed we must have a negative test before we board in Rome. We are going early, so wondering where we can get a test in Rome before we board the ship. Any input would be helpful!
Markanddonna Posted July 3, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2022 Ask at your hotel or google pharmacies nearby. Virtually every Farmacia in Europe does COVID tests. We are staying in Ostia and they have three pharmacies there that do COVID testing. I was in England in May and needed a COVID test. Easy peasy, but be sure you get full documentation with your name and the name of your pharmacy for reimbursement.

Rare ziggyuk Posted July 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2022 +1 for the pharmacy and they are very low cost too. Alternatively take a kit with you that you can do by video in your hotel room, they will be convenient but not as low cost as a pharmacy.

Markanddonna Posted July 5, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2022 My pharmacy in the USA said that soon (whenever that is) insurance companies will not be paying for COVID tests for travel. So, I can't give a sure answer since this is likely changing.
Twocoasts Posted July 5, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2022 We used eMed virtual tests that we brought with us. Very easy. But our hotel was giving people info on local pharmacies and I think it was less than 20 euro.
Rare schmoopie17 Posted July 5, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2022 Getting on the ship is one thing, but what about the various laws of the countries the ship stops at? What do you do if a country five days into your cruise requires a test within three days of entering? Other than loading up on a bunch of test kits...and then who proctors them??
