Hi all you experienced cruisers

We are cruising from Trieste and will be in Venice for 3 days before our cruise. Costa need a proof of  neg covid test certificate within 48hrs boarding.

As we will be in Venice..do any of you know where we can get a covid test?? I have tried booking online but it seems most places have closed down

Thanks Lynne

Your hotel in Venice will be able to tell you where to go to get one.

When we were in Venice last month our hotel had a QR code in reception that listed the locations for testing.

Has the one at the airport closed down too?

before Oceania changed their boarding requirements, we scheduled these for our family.  This is a quick, antigen results with results in English. Highly recommend

I found the link to the one suggested by our hotel

https://crivenezia.myprenota.it/rapido

But it appears to be closing on Sunday 17th July as no further appointments are available.

The cruise lines are going to have to think this out again as there are less and less locations for testing.

Oh that is great as we go on the 31st July !

That link only applied to Norwegian and Holland America cruises.  Does not apply to your cruise with Costa, which still requires testing.

It appears that VCE airport still offers testing, but 8am - 1pm.  Check the website for details.

Also, the RedCross site at St Marks is still accepting reservations.   https://crivenezia.myprenota.it/

sorry they were not available. I see this location does not schedule on Sundays, though I think Rome still does.  We emailed the hotel concierge and they directed us to a partner service that will come to the hotel - again, this was before the US eliminated testing for return to the US but we haven't cancelled yet in case there is another surge.   We also ordered home proctored tests as backup.

Then here’s the link to use the at home test making it proctored.

Anyone had any luck lately getting the test? We leave September 28 from Venice and Windstar is still requiring the tests. The Red Cross option at St Marks only shows appointments through August 21.

They may be only opening appointments on a rolling 2 weeks in advance.  That is what is happening currently in a lot of places.  We are sailing August 28th and still cannot make an appointment at our local testing centre, but I am confident that by end of next week I will be able to make an appointment.

Thank you.

Windstar just announced they will now accept the telemedicine tests. We have two of those so we hope we are now set. Will test on our own before taking those tests!
