10% Discount not applicable?

Hi, on my account I have (along with my Cruisenext certificates) a' MY 10% discount' which was put there in 2021 when NCL canceled my booked cruise due to Covid.  Tried to use it last night and the agent told me I can't because it is in Canadian Dollars??  There is no amount attached to it??  Does this sound right? and what can I do?  I pay for my cruise in Canadian dollars.
