Greece and covid test

Read must have been tested within 3 days of entry. How will cruise handle this 4 days after embarkation? Have I misread info? Sure don't want to stay on board in port(s). Please advise. Thanks.

So what you are saying is you stop in Greece for the first time after you sail from some port outside of Greece?

Here is the actual phrasing:

 

For cruises embarking in Greece: The Greek government requires guests to take a PCR test within 3 days of embarkation or an Antigen test within 2 days of embarkation.Jul 12, 2022

 

Note the word "embarking". If you are embarking elsewhere, it would appear you don't need to test for Greece. Maybe I am understanding incorrectly. But the actual dates are there.

In every case I am aware of, if you can't make a timeline for testing due to actually being on the ship, the cruise line has provided the required test. So, in your case, if you are on the ship 3 or more days, and the country requires a test no matter where you are (the few countries requiring tests currently, like Canada typically make the requirement 2 or 3 days prior to boarding the ship, not actually entering the country), the ship will test you at no charge.

 

We just sailed from Copenhagen to Boston, with 2 stops in Canada, the first being 14 days after we boarded the ship. Canada required us to test negative before boarding the ship, as much as 17 days before we actually touched Canadian soil.

Not sure what cruiseline you are traveling on. Royal Caribbean’s guidelines state that if you are not up-to date on vaccinations (booster included unless initial vaccination series less than 270 day old), tests are required for Greek ports at a cost of $55 per person.
