Onboard upgrade

I have booked a guarantee inside cabin and wish now that I had booked a balcony. We have never sailed with Cunard before. It is only a short cruise at the end of this month. Has anyone ever been successful in upgrading once onboard ? I’m not asking for a freebie !

Are there balconies available now ? If you really want one it would be safer to change your booking before you're onboard.

Thank you. Checked on the website and it is sold out so I am assuming it will be no chance ! I booked through an agent and will lose the will if I have to try and get through to them

Best to ask the agent to to place one in the “waiting list”.  Because if one waits until boarding, and joining the queue, the list will be very long.  The wait list may already be long

Only once. I took a last minute crossing to NYC in steerage (her indoors and me always travel QG) and all that was available was an inside.

On board, I paid for an upgrade. Dozens of pax had registered for a free upgrade, but we got one, they didn't.

Keep checking their website. I managed to move from Princess Grill to Queens Grill on Saturday morning at 9am having seen one cabin become available on Friday night.

Paid for it though! Lol

I also wish I’d booked a balcony for our upcoming QE cruise. Lesson learnt…. book the cabin you want at the time of booking!

Cunard are very fair, one can upgrade for the price it would have been on the date of original booking.  Complete with any benefits enjoyed.
