Rare LMaxwell Posted August 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2022 Is this like Cunard that requires one to be "dressed up" in public areas in the evening, or more like Princess/Celebrity in that regard? Not interested in casino, but main theater and music lounges.
iceman93 Posted August 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2022 Dress code (such as it is these days) is only for sit-down dining venues. While some people do enjoy dressing up for the entire evening on ex-formal, ex- gala, dressy nights there will be plenty of people who don't (and that's perfectly okay). vicd1969 Posted August 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2022 (edited) More like Princess/Celebrity. Even on dressy nights, you can change to your comfortable clothes to attend the theater and music lounges. However, on European cruises with a large number of European passengers, expect the crowds to be dressed elegantly on the "dressy"/gala nights in the theaters and lounges. But nowhere near Cunard requirements. Edited August 15, 2022 by vicd1969
LocoLoco1 Posted August 15, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2022 More like Princess. Definitely.

But nowhere near Cunard requirements. Exactly. I was on a cruise to the Canary Islands and the ship was 95% Brits and they dressed to the nines on the formal nights. Many men with tuxedos, a few Scots in kilts and all the rest of formal wear in Scotland, and while I only saw a few women in long dresses, very dressy cocktail type outfits were prevalent. It was the North Americans who were no as well dressed (myself included and I wore a blazer and collared shirt, but no tie).
esimon Posted August 15, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2022 They Do Not force whiners to dress up LOL -- If you want dressed up, classy cruising you need Cunard and small for sure - In this day and age we do not force anyone to do anything they do not want to. DaveOKC Posted August 15, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2022 Even on past more formal nights I have noticed that some people will dress nicely for dinner but then go and change to more casual wear for the rest of the evening.
