New Protocols re: unvaxed children

Recommended Posts

I just want to be VERY clear with the new protocols beginning Sept 5th for our Oct 2nd cruise out of New Jersey:

Children under 5= NO testing required AT ALL (we have an unvaxed 3yr old)

Unvaxed children 5 & up require negative test but can now be any rapid (antigen) instead of ONLY PCR within 3 days

Im assuming this means no more testing at the pier before we board for unvaxed kids???

TIA!

Unvaccinated children age 2 and up have always required testing. That hasn't changed.

The rest is correct, assuming your trip isn't a Bermuda/Canada trip

This was true but it has changed.  The new protocols do not require kids under 5 to test at all irrespective of vaccine status.

Guests 5 years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise.

Fully vaccinated guests 5 years of age and older must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for fully vaccinated guests on shorter itineraries.

Guests younger than 5 do not have any testing requirements.

You are correct.  No test required pre cruise for  your 3 year old and no test at the pier.

Oops, sorry, was looking at the pre-Sept 5 protocols.

Your summary is all correct then.
