jerick Posted August 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2022 Can anyone recommend independent tour operators or companies for any of the ABC islands?
CntPAcruiser Posted August 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2022 This will probably get moved to the Caribbean Ask a Question board, but in the meantime, our go-to on Bonaire has been Woodwind for snorkeling. On Aruba we used Sonny Binns for an island tour.
ARandomTraveler Posted August 28, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2022 Trikes Aruba is a great tour, really fun, I've done it twice (one on a cruise and once on a land vacation). https://trikes-aruba.com ABC tours is really popular too, the UTV tour is really popular. https://abc-aruba.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwpKyYBhB7EiwAU2Hn2Z_KvySy3Mk6VaRw68H56HZz-_K4Z9tXrzz9MuAUQPoIhHswu4FtUBoCamwQAvD_BwE&fh-u=8fdbdad5-b48b-4b71-b5ec-228cc3bc4442 I didn't do a tour in Curacao but went to Mambo Beach which gets good reviews and is recommended a lot. I thought it SUCKED! It's a man made beach that still gets a lot of man-of-war jellyfish. It was boring and the people who sell the beach chairs come around every 30 minutes and try to make you pay again unless you can show them your receipt. Haven't been to Bonaire. DoctorWhoGirl Posted August 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2022 We did a private jeep tour in Aruba in May with Around Aruba Tours and had an amazing day with our driver/guide Vale. We did 8 hours and saw everything we wanted, including swimming at Conchi. They have a variety of group tours as well. https://www.aroundarubatours.com In Curacao I highly recommend Gone Caribe. https://www.gonecaribe.com/welcome Joey was awesome and we enjoyed a tour of the island, swimming with turtles as well as a walking tour in Willmstad before we had to return to the ship. Tatra603 Posted August 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2022 I can also recommend Trikes Aruba. For Bonaire, it has to be hiring a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers and trundling around the island at your own pace. So much fun.
feelingnauti Posted August 29, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2022 If you want to do some great snorkeling, then book Woodwind Sailing and Snorkeling out of Bonaire. A wonderful couple runs the excursion and some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean. I highly recommend it.
CRUIS4ME Posted August 29, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2022 In February in Bonaire, we booked the snorkel kayak through mangroves….it was through Trip Advisor or Viator. I think there were eight kayaks, all others were from the Netherlands as island is a Dutch destination…and we were from US. booked early. Great tour, didn’t have to fight currents, snorkeling through mangrove was totally different than sea, tour guide fluent in English and, of course, Dutch. In Aruba, we booked a day pass at Eagle Beach. Big mistake…got there and hotel was really lame. Glad we didn’t prepay as we walked away and went to the beach. Only could take an hour or so because the sewage plant smell was wafting our way. Next time, will go to Palm Beach. In Curacao we were there from 2 to 10 pm. So we just walked over to the port area where there were shops and stopped a couple places for a drink and people watch, then got a pizza for dinner. Views especially at sunset were gorgeous. Easy to DIY.
