Asking for upgrade once onboard?

I did that too with a GMail Account. One day I was deleting everything in the Junk folder.   I hit the delete on My IPad.  The IPad shut down and I lost everything in every folder.   I could not recover any of it.  Luckily I kept copies of all of our cruises in separate vanilla folders.  
 

I don’t trust anything in the cloud.  
 

i also want a real card to get into my cabin.  I don’t want to get out my phone, find the app and etc.   I am not a person that has the phone attached to my hand 24/7
