Yes, lots of different options. It's a good idea to try several until you find the one that suits you best.

The dining room is very convenient for the location of our cabin, just two floors down.

So despite being firmly in the "better to have and not need than need and not have" camp, it was so overcast when we left the ship that we left the towels in the room. Should have followed my own mantra. The sun is out and it's a lovely day for the beach. We are now the proud owners of a gran Canária towel and beach bag purchased from a shop on the promenade 😂😂😂

The beach (Las Canteras) is excellent, just a 15 minute walk from the ship, nice and flat to walk along the water's edge and very clean. There are toilets and showers too and a long promenade with shops, bars and restaurants. Very nice and definitely recommended.

I know they have a different tax regime to the rest of Spain. If I remember I'll ask at guest services later (not sure they'll know either but it doesn't hurt to ask).

I went to Guest Services to ask. It was actually the loyalty ambassador who was on the desk at the time and he went to ask someone else and came and said that it still applies despite the Canaries having a different tax regime. I'm not entirely sure it wasn't just a stock answer so if we make it to Captain's Corner on the last day and I remember I'll try and ask there for you.

The waitress didn't mention any restrictions at all so I am guessing we could probably have chosen multiple dishes or she would have said. The lunch menu is not quite the same as the dinner menu; there's no lamb on the lunch menu.

Tonight's dinner menu

 

I didn't think the appetizers were very inspiring tonight so I just had the garden salad. Not very exciting but I must say the vinaigrette dressing was very good.

 

Shrimp and crab risotto

DH had this as his starter and I had it for mains. We both thought it was good.

 

Grilled pork chop, which DH had as his main course. We were pleasantly surprised because despite it not looking anything special it was actually very tasty and, as DH put it, the vegetables were properly cooked.

 

Chocolate capuccino. Yum yum. Very light chocolate mousse with a coffee foam topping. Delicious. 😋

We bumped into our cc roll call friend @crickettsafter dinner who told us she had been curious about the nationalities on board since all she was hearing around her were British accents. So she went to Guest Services to ask. They told her 96 percent of the guests on this sailing are Brits, there are 78 Americans and then the next two nationalities are Israel and India.

Currently in the theatre waiting for Name That Tune to start. I'm not entirely sure we'll last the full length but at least we managed to get seats very near the end of a row and will only have to inconvenience two people if we decide to clear off early. 😂

We lasted until the end of round one. The quiz itself is interspersed with some performances by the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers.

On returning to our cabin, we noticed we are sailing close to land. I checked on Marine Traffic and we are sailing the long way around Gran Canária on the way to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

I managed to get a couple of interesting pics of clouds illuminated by the lights on land.

According to the app it is the same menu each night.  Ate there once and very nice.

We'll, if this had been a standard 7-night cruise we'd have been on our way to the airport. I can't tell you how happy I am to have another 5 days! Woohoo! 😁😁😁

 

We are in Tenerife today. The weather forecast is partly cloudy with sunny intervals. Unfortunately this is one of the ports where we lost half a day because of the itinerary change so we have to be back on board by 2.30 pm. 😕

Tenerife is one of our favourite ports and we usually get a taxi to Puerto de la Cruz so it must be disappointing that you leave early today.

It was a bit of a bummer to lose half a day here and the same tomorrow in Funchal 😕.

We strolled into town, had a wander around the pedestrian area and found a nice souvenir shop to buy the required gifts for the folks back home. It was very pleasant.
