dsvrn Posted September 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2022 We are on full transit Panama Canal in February 2023. We will arrive in San Pedro on a Thursday. Our flight leaves LAX at 12:30 pm that day. We haven’t been to San Pedro for awhile. What is best way of getting to airport? We usually do walk off with our luggage. In other ports we usually just catch a taxi. I know LAX is farther from port than other airports are from ports. I was wondering if we should do Princess transfer. triple7tahoe Posted September 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2022 We have found that using Uber/Lyft works as well as most others and has been less expensive for two of us. The down side is; these folks will raise their prices as demand increases. Maybe by walking off, you can get ahead of the "increased demand"? Coffeeluvr05 Posted September 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2022 Personally, I'm not a fan of Princess transfers on the big busses with a bazillion people. I have been doing private transfers or Uber/Lyft and had success.
koreakruiser Posted September 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2022 We have always used the Princess transfers (just our preference). When we returned from a cruise on the Discovery in April, this was our experience: The cost was $34 per person each way. It took less than two hours total from departing the ship to checking in at LAX. Details: The Discovery arrived in Port of LA (Berth 92) at 6:30 am. Disembarkation was authorized at 7:44. We were in our designated waiting area at 8:13. We disembarked the ship at 8:32, processed Immigration at 8:40. Got our bags and departed the customs area (no checks) at 8:48. We were on the transfer bus at 8:56, but had to wait while it filled, finally leaving at 9:23. It only took 27 minutes on the freeway to get to LAX airport, arriving by 9:50, but the United terminal was the last drop-off so it took 23 minutes making the various stops before finally arriving at 10:13. Our flight was at 1:30 pm so we had plenty of time to check-in and relax before departure.
lovecruzin Posted September 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2022 We recently used Midwilshuttle for San Pedro to LAX. Our cost for 2 was $85 plus gratuity. Van could accommodate 4-6 adults. It was a Saturday so traffic was light but time from when we advised we were curbside to drop off at Terminal 3 was approx 35 minutes. Taxi line was long.
