Price Adjustment, OBC, or Upgrade After Final Payment?

I'm not overly familiar with MSC's policies and I swore they previously had something in place due to covid, but I know a lot of that is changing or being removed now. If you are past final payment and selected a bella category, are you eligible for a price adjustment, OBC, or an upgrade without a fee? This is in the United States. I know that from reading through some of these threads that customer service is hit or miss, so I was hoping to get the real answer before potentially spending a lot of time on the phone and being told no to all of the above.

Most discounts after final payment  are for new bookings only.

You can try, but I was told I was locked into the pricing that was in effect at final payment and would not receive onboard credit or an upgrade with the current free balcony promotion.

Their policy for many, many years is to refuse any kind of price adjustment. Which is understandable as their prices and offers change all the time. Their business model only can work with no options to make changes and high cancellation fees. Which is typical for the European cruise companies. 

 

Certainly you can try it, at the beginning of their conquering the US market offensive there have been success stories. But apart from the limited chances there is the risk that the customer agent on the phone will ruin your booking completely, I would always think twice before I call them.
