Hotel in Miami

The OP has never been back with any feedback. Absent that, I think the InterContinental Miami is the best option.

If budget realities come into focus, then I'd check the "Blue Lagoon" hotels at MIA like the Hilton, Hampton Inn, Hyatt House, TownePlace Suites Miami Airport, Miami Airport Marriott, and Pullman Hotel Miami Airport. When I do in an out business trips, these hotels are very convenient.

We use Embassy Suites at MIA. Airport to hotel shuttle very frequent. If there on a week day, managers cocktail hour for a couple of cocktails/wine/beer. Made to order breakfast in the mornings prior to the port. Usually take Lyft to the port. We have also stayed there prior to continuing flights to the Caribbean for a vacation.

how about the aloft?

Are you asking or suggesting? Which Aloft, Aloft Brickell or Aloft MIA? If you are asking, both are nice, the Aloft Brickell is a good location for cruising, but the Aloft MIA is probably cheaper. If you are suggesting, thanks, but the OP has not been back with any feedback since they asked this in Oct 2022.
