I read these boards to gain information for my future cruises. I read so many questions from people who have some sort of problem or main concern with their booking. Such as, when will air info arrive, can i change my seats, they booked the wrong day, is Bailey's really NOT on the premium drink plan?!, where will my gty cabin be?, Is the Vibe worth the price?, Is the Haven worth the price?, they cancelled my excursion, now what?, will I get a room upgrade?, and the list can go on! I would love to hear from anyone who had any kind of issue or question Before their cruise, How'd it turn out?!

just trying to pass time till my cruise!

Yeah but what about the CHAIR HOGS and and and the SMOKE from the casino and and and noise from the elevators, etc.etc

And shorts at dinner, or I’m super-duper titanium and they didn’t have a special line for me, or handling food on the buffet?? It’s a wonder anyone still cruises!! 😉😎

Speaking of CHAIR HOGS, I saw on a Carnival Facebook group that the cruise line is actively moving to combat the hogs. Here is a link to an article: https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-makes-a-move-thats-firm-with-guests/884384

I could see this going sideways for the cruise line.  Imagine that there are so many violators, instead of just handing out towels they now need the staff to operate what is effectively a coat check room. They’d have to collect, wrap, catalogue and store the belongings of dozens of people an hour, then prove ownership of all the items when people cone to claim them.

I have a feeling that it may not last terribly long but it makes me wonder if any of the other cruise lines will attempt something similar, It has been a good long while since my last cruise and ever longer since I was on NCL so I can't remember if they had the same level of hogging as Carnival seems to experience.

Just returned yesterday from 5 day cruise on Prima out of NYC and it turned out better than I anticipated.

Booked about 5 weeks before cruise. Decided to be Zen and not worry if we could not get dining or shows we wanted. Resigned to enjoy the ship and spending  time at sea.

Happy to find I could get 5 Speciality Dining reservations by booking on line ahead and being flexible with times.  Enjoyed all of our meals. Onda and Palomar were our favorites.

Most shows were booked up and no comedy available by 3pm on embarkation day. However, we were able to book 3 shows and get into others later in the week by going standby 10-15 minutes before showtime.  We ended up seeing all we wanted by being flexible and luck of our timing with the varied dinner reservations.

So, yes, better than expected!

Good to see Carnival intending to take action on the chair hogs.  But they have also trying lately to take measures to deal with brawling passengers.  Just thinking that reigning in the entitled chair hogs might increase the fisticuffs.  I can see where the poor crew is between a rock and hard place on this stuff.

I was once chatting with someone on their first cruise who told me that a wonderful "cruising tip" she had received was to get up super early and put a towel and a magazine on a lounger and then go back to bed.  She was very proud of having done this and had no clue it was frowned upon.  I broke it to her gently, lol.

Had to be an American.  We embarrass ourselves constantly with our misguided sense of entitlement and the specter that follows us everywhere that “because we pay taxes and work we should have the right to everything we desire.”    It’s especially caustic when we do it while abroad.   Two US males with one or two cocktails starting a fight over the lounger that his wife was sitting in makes perfect sense.

My point was that she was on her first cruise and following someone's bad advice.  She seemed like quite a sweet, quiet type of person actually.  You are painting with quite a broad brush.  Actually, judging by her accent, I would have said she was Jamaican.

I believe their response to was about the first part of your post about the fighting that Carnival is having to deal with, not the lady you were chatting with.
