Princess Club Class Mini Suite versus Premium Suite with Balcony S5

We currently have a booking in a Club Class mini suite on Majestic Princess and we have purchased the  Princess Premier Package. All of this would be great and would meet our expectations BUT we now find that, on this particular cruise we could book an S5 Suite with balcony for not a great deal more, on the basic cruise fare.

Some obvious questions are:

> It seems the S5 suites are situated at the front of the ship, is this an issue for voyages into Asia?

>It seems that Club Class dining is available for S5 Suite guests, is that so?

>S5 Suite guests seem to have access to a separate lounge. Is that so, and do we need to add a Princess Premier Package to our booking. Further, are beverages automatically included in the S5 Suite package or whilst in this dedicated lounge?

Your views would be appreciated.

Cheers

I would suggest booking the suite and downgrading the Premier package to Plus. Being in the suite will get you dinner in a specialty restaurant the first night. (The Premier package comes with two dinners per person in a specialty restaurant.) You'll be giving up the option of ordering alcoholic drinks priced between $12 and $18 without an additional charge. You'll also be giving up the opportunity to win Princess prizes and getting three printed photos and digital copies of all your photos.

The suite will come with an initial minibar setup--10 alcoholic beverages and 10 nonalcoholic ones. When we had a suite, they delivered two bottles of water each day. The Concierge Lounge back then did not serve any alcoholic drinks. Perhaps that's changed.

Our favorite perk of being in a suite, other than the size of the rooms, was eating breakfast in Sabatini's each morning. We did not have any problems being in the front of the ship.

Most Club Class mini-suites (which do not include any Suite Perks and is mis-named) are midship.

Premium Suites (S5) are usually forward (at least on the Royal Class Ships).

Given the choice of a CC Mini or a Full Suite, for almost matching fares, I would take the Suite.

Depending on the amount of cruise days and your drinking habits, you might be able to skip a beverage package.  You can get specialty coffees with your suite breakfast.  You will get 2 bottles of water daily.  You can exchange your mini-bar for like items.

You may need/want to purchase the Princess Plus beverage package to include your wifi, crew appreciation, and beverages.

Full suites get Club class dining for Dinner each night,  Lunch on Sea Days and you get to dine in one of the Specialty dining restaurants (usually Sabatini's)  for a mimosa Breakfast each morning.  (The breakfast is the best part of this deal,  it is never crowded and while there is a menu they'll basically get you anything you ask for)   You get the use of the Suite lounge on Royal Class ships.   For two hours each evening they serve beer, wine, cocktails and appetizers. Alcoholic beverages are only available (complimentary) during those two hours.  There is usually a themed night several times during the voyage. The concierge is also located in the Suite lounge and helps with dining reservations and requests.

You can also grab Soft drinks, bottles of sparkling and still water and mixers. They have an espresso machine and hot tea.  The room attendant leaves two bottles of water per day, but we grabbed extra water when needed and sodas as well.  At breakfast they had fruit, pastries etc. and at lunch hours they have sandwiches and fruit.

The first time we sailed in a suite on the Discovery Princess we had the plus package.  We never used it.  The second time,  we cancelled it.  We changed the mini-bar setup to two coffee cards and on a 15 night cruise we barely used that because there was always coffee across the hall. (We like the S4 suites near the concierge lounge)

My husband is convinced we will cruise no other way....
