Greetings, EV upcoming and my question for any and all is about the “vanity” desk in upstairs bedroom. How functional is it for cosmetics and makeup application?
the bathroom vanity looks small and lacking decent storage.
what is your take on this?

My wife had no issues with the vanity desk upstairs. It's right next to the window for light during the daytime and lighting was otherwise bright. Plenty of room and storage. During the day I also used the desk for doing work. Vanity in bathroom is a bit small but she used that as well.

i follow pricing every single day..been 2 villas available for weeks..yesterday one got snagged and only one left and the price is cheaper! shouldnt it be more expensive?  TA told me overall pricing is 500 cheaper but my obc goes down 150 but still every bit counts on a suite. so down 3050 to 2900 for overall obc and ill have to cash out the 800 X credit thru the slot machine. but he will mail me a check for his portion after the cruise.

I know this thread has been inactive but I wanted to ask if you were able to get the Edge Villa for roughly the same price as the Royal Suite, would you take the EV or RS? You had indicated it was perhaps not worth the price increase but if the increase was nominal would that sway you back toward the EV?  The concept of being able to access the retreat and Luminae at the same level are attractive on the Beyond as the restaurant is now upstairs, however, the RS layout is more appealing to us as the living/dining area seems more functional. I would appreciate your thoughts if you are still monitoring this thread.  Thank you.

my first time on X will be my retirement cruise in an Ascent EV But i watched so many vids on the cabins that i feel i know them pretty well even without ever experiencing them. On the vids i did like the RS one floor layout as it seemed much larger than the EV that is officially larger. the dining / living room area seemed bigger and  if you had more than 2 people i think the EV would feel cramped and the RS is the winner. also the bathroom of the RS seems much bigger than the EV so theres a winner there.

I also feel the balcony on the RS is way too tiny for the price. But i just spent a week in an aqua suite balcony on oasis and it's hard to beat that size!  and the EV has 2 full loungers vs other chairs ive seen on the RS videos and we definitely prefer the full loungers.

but for 2 people the 'cool factor' of the upstairs retreat door as well as being able to use the 'secret door' outside cabin 106 to get to the lounge makes the EV a winner. As does the pool outside! Especially at the same price point. (assuming no issues with stairs of course).  I found on oasis when i was further from the lounge i didnt use it as much as when i was upstairs next to it in a crown loft suite so the edge villas being right there at the retreat is a tangible perk for us!

I'm retired so I had time to do WAY too much research on the RS vs EV choice. The EV won out because of the veranda size and the 'plunge pool'. I was in that jacuzzi/hot tub at least twice a day. The veranda is complete privacy and definitely a clothing optional area. I've done the PH (6147) on the Constellation twice and loved that veranda but no privacy there. Plunge pool had controls for temp, bubbles, and mood lighting. Red was a little creepy at night but I loved that thing! Starboard side EV's also have a patio on Deck 16 (Beyond and Ascent).

Thank you both. We were on the Edge with Luminae on the same floor so it was very convenient.  It is the new combined suite area that attracts us to the EV on Beyond. I appreciate the heads up that the patios are only on the Starboard side if we opt for the EV.  We are a balancing the layout of the RS that as you point out seems larger, but with a balcony that is small and overshadowed, with the EV with lots of natural light, a functional balcony and great Retreat access but which seems more “cramped” in the living area.  However, the internal stairs may be a major plus in tricking myself into exercising!

You can actually change floors by using the elevators (DW had a rollator). It's a bit of a trek, and the door on Deck 16 is heavy, but we managed. I loved the patio! I used it when the veranda was in full sun.

Hi. We booked 15106 in June. When I try to reserve Specialty Dining they want to charge me? I was told this was included? Was I misinformed? I will be very upset as this was part of the reason we decided to pay more for this room. Also, many nights are already sold out- Will we still be able to get in? Starting to panic a bit. Appreciate any insights!!

Thanks for such a quick response.. Will we be charged?

You will NOT be charged, ALL specialty dining is included with the EV you booked.  You need not even worry about making advance reservations, once on board, speak with your Butler, he/she will handle all for you.

Thank you both.  I will not try to book in advance then. Surprised the app doesn’t tie my room to the included packages.. but I feel reassured now. I have never booked so close to sailing and was worried we would miss out.
This experience feels like a dream come true so I don’t want to have any regrets or surprises.

Just one caveat. The Magic Carpet Dinner on the Edge used to be included but Celebrity now defines that as an “experience” similar to the Eden and Le Voyage tastings so that will not be included, but standard Eden and Le Voyage dining as well as the other specialty dining are included.

Also, the shoreside concierge will be contacting you prior to the cruise.  Let them know about your requests for specialty dining.  I did that, they made note, but also told me not to worry, the Butler will take care of you.  That he did, he was amazing.
