We've only sailed HAL since 'you know what', but I will say if you had told me in 2019 what we were going to be facing for the next 2-3 years, I would have never imagined any of the cruise lines to survive, at least without government bailout, and I certainly wouldn't have imagined them to be able to adapt policies to navigate through it (however unpopular that makes them).

We were certainly impressed by our Nieuw Statendam cruises in September from Quebec to Boston and back.  We had not sailed on HAL since 2008 but this ship layout, friendliness of the crew, and food quality convinced us to book 6 more weeks.

Slowly, cruising is returning to normal. No Mariner lunch so far, and test kitchen, and computer classes are gone.  We have had welcome aboard cocktails, medallion awards, Orange Party and shared tables return. The first World Cruise since 2020 starts in a couple of months.

The Mariner lunch is being done on embarkation day. If they start boarding before 12
