StephanieA2531 Posted October 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2022 I'm going on the Escape for the first time in December. We are super excited! I have previously been on the Breakaway and Encore. The smoke smell from the Breakaway casino was pretty bad. The Escape had an enclosed smoking portion which was great. I enjoyed playing in the casino without smoke everywhere. How is the Escape? Can you smell the smoke from the casino in other areas of 678 Ocean Place? Is it overwhelming in the casino? Thanks in advance for your responses!
MotownVoice Posted October 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2022 Someone will have a better response than mine. However, since this question seems to be lunar in recurrance I offer this: Every ship has a map that tells you where the smoking areas are. You know your own sensitivity to how far you need to be from those areas based on the amount of detection you find tolerable. So only you can truly a answer this question. Look at the map, then apply your own tolerance mathematics.

I'm curious about the level of smoke in the casino. I heard air handlers were installed a few years ago and would like to know if they work well in the Escape casino since there is not an enclosed smoking area in this casino like some of the newer ships. I'm interested in people's recent experiences with this. Edited October 22, 2022 by StephanieA2531

If you are asking if you can smell smoke, if you are out to make a point, probably. I don't notice it when traversing on Deck 8 or 6.

Thanks in advance for your responses! It’s been since before COVID since I sailed Escape. I don’t recall it being as bad as on the Breakaway in the Casino. But, I sailed the GETAWAY (Breakaway’s twin) this past spring and thought the smoke situation was better than it had been in the past. But, it was bad before on the Break/Get-away ships. So, while improved, it was still not great. Decks 8 and 6 weren’t bad for smoke. But, I think in general, fewer and fewer people smoke. So, probably fewer smoking on board/casinos. Rare debenson0723 Posted October 22, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2022 Every cruise is going to be different based on the number of smokers in the casino. I was on the Escape in February but masking was still required and no smoking allowed. It was great. Maybe the Escape did have air handlers installed in it's recent dry dock but I have not read that. I would be prepared for an experience more like the Breakaway and be pleasantly surprised if it wasn't. Keep checking for reviews between now and then and maybe more information will surface. Enjoy your cruise.
