Unfortunately our landing has been moved from Brisbane to  Mooloolaba. We will be in port for a long time which would allow extra time to travel to and from Brisbane. We would like to book a tour out of  Mooloolaba to take us to and from the Steve Irwin Zoo. Any suggestions?

Probably the easiest way to get to Australia Zoo is by taxi/Uber or take a tour. There is a public bus also.

The Australia zoo is a lot closer to Mooloolaba than Brisbane, but many tour operators aren't set up for tours from Moo it seems.  Isn't you cruise ship offering a tour there?

How long is your ship tendering off Mooloolaba?  Mooloolaba is a beach beautiful suburb of the Sunshine Coast.  Australia Zoo is close to Mooloolaba, a short drive about 35 mins depending on traffic.  If you have a long stopover, the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Maleny/Montville is a beautiful drive combined with AustraliaZoo. Unfortunately Mooloolaba can be unreliable for tendering, due to unprotected rough seas.

Fortunately you are going to a far nicer stop than Brisbane, before Covid we would go to the Sunshine Coast twice a year. The Tender will drop you at the Marina Complex near the Aquarium about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the centre of Mooloolaba. Suggest you hire a car for the day and drive the 30 to 40 minutes to the Zoo. Rental will only cost about $60 to $100AUD for the day, and if you can find another couple it's a small outlay. Don't leave without trying the Mooloolaba King Prawns with a Pint of 4X Gold, Lovely.
