Longboysfan Posted November 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Where is the docking area in Key West. I will assume there is a shuttle into own. Anyone do bike rentals while there?
Fuzzy55 Posted November 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2022 You dock right in town. Everything is within easy walking distance.

We will get an early start and want to visit the Hemingway Home, the Southernmost Point, and the butterfly garden, then have lunch by the marina and pick up some key lime pie. It looks like this is all within walking distance of the ship, is this a feasible plan if we get off the ship right away? Yes. Start with the Southernmost Point and work your way back.

We visited in April and really enjoyed the small museum. They limit entry so we planned on mid-afternoon and were able to get right in. Expect to wait in line for the picture at the Southernmost Point. And the butterfly house was so much more beautiful than we expected (it is also very small but we found a bench and just watched in wonder).
keywester33 Posted November 11, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2022 The Southernmost Point is a mile from the dock. If you don’t feel like walking that far, you can easily get an Uber from the front of the hotel where the dock is for about $10 and then work your way back toward the dock. This will let you beat your fellow shipmates and not have to deal with a long line. Now that we no longer have multiple ships in town, the wait at the Hemingway House is not very long. You can also use the free loop bus, but it can be busy when there’s a ship in port. Here is the link to the route: https://www.carfreekeywest.com/free-duval-loop-bus the cruise ship dock is near stop 4 and the Southernmost Point is near stop 10. 3

The southernmost Point is about a 20 minute walk from the Key West Cruise port. 1
