We are going to be on Sky Princess on Jan 7 2023.

DW & I are not purchasing any wifi. Our friend who we are travelling with did purchase the package.

we all have I phones.  Will we be able to iMessage between us?
Or is there some sort of communication available in the Princess app?

If you all have iPhones you can iMsg with no problems.  Just be connected to the ships wifi ( medallion net). Paid internet has nothing to do with it, iMsg uses wifi only which is free.  Just disembarked the Ruby last weekend with friends on board.  Texted with them and with family at home without issue.

Are you sure about that?  The devices *still* need to connect to a messaging server (which is NOT on the ship) in order to pass messages.

Who knows? Maybe I shouldn’t have been so emphatic about it.  😆 I can only say it worked for me.  Maybe the ships inTRanet had enough of a data stream to allow it?  Imsg does not use sms/mms messaging, but now I’m getting way beyond my expertise.
