Hello!  I am excited to join everyone on this cruise.  This is my first solo cruise and my first transatlantic cruise.  I noticed that someone else said they were from Knoxville, TN.  I am too!

 

I know previously someone mentioned a tour in Malaga with Spain Day Tours to Ronda and Mijas.  I booked that and was assigned bus 2.  Is anyone else on that bus?

 

In Ponta Delgada I am doing a jeep tour with Azores Trails of Nature at 2:00.  I grabbed the last spot on the jeep.  They said it would be with other cruisers from our ship.  Is anyone perhaps on this tour too?

Anyways, I look forward to seeing everyone on board!

Stayed up late to check in - now able to finally 'print' my documents this morning (was getting error messages last night).....  

 

are people pre-arranging a ride to the port?  Or just grabbing a cab?

You can google it (google maps) to see how close or far it is from the port?  enter hotel name or address then directions - then enter 'port of barcelona or barcelona cruise terminal' - should give you a rough idea?  What part of barcelona are you staying in?

Most hotels do allow you to leave your bags if your room is not ready?  You can always email tlhem.  I let my hotel know I was arriving early and would like an early check in if possible - and they did respond that they would store my bags if my room was not ready.

Not sure if there are any other soccer fans on here but seems like Barcelona FC has secured 1st spot in the Spanish league and will win the Spanish league championship. Their last home game will be the weekend of the 27-28.  There is a strong chance that they will be presented with the trophy that day. If they do there will be thousands of people petting in the streets.  Will be something cool to participate/see.  Check out tic Tok clips of when they secured 1st place and the parties in the street.  It’s crazy!!!!

Hello fellow cruisers!  My name is Kayla, my husband is Devin and we are originally from Virginia.  Avid cruisers, but this will be our first transatlantic.  We have been living in Europe for a little while, so we're using this cruise to get back to the US.  Much more pleasant than a flight 😁

 

We are a bit slow to planning this time, but if anyone else is looking for a private tour in Ponta Delgada, Azores, here's the one we have planned.  I've been emailing with Sarah Santos, the owner of Harmony Trail Azores, a family-owned company for a 5-6 hour tour of the island.  Devin and I are are most interested in spending some time at the spectacular viewpoints for the crater, the blue and green lakes, and visiting Sete Cidades.  So, if that sounds similar to what you'd like to do and you don't currently have anything booked, let us know!  You can email me directly at perduekn@gmail.com if you'd like.  Sarah offers a private, small group tour, at least 2 people, no more than 7 guests for 250 Euros, divided among everyone.  She said that if we had cloudy weather and the visibility is low, she knows beautiful areas to visit.  Thanks for reading, see you on the ship 😊

How about Canada?  The maritime provinces or the Vancouver area.  One of my dream trips is to someday take a train across Canada, getting off periodically along the way to play tourist.

I'm staying at Hotel 1898.  I stayed there a few years ago and really liked it.  I especially like the rooftop bar that serves tapas at a reasonable time (I can't eat late, which is often a problem for me in Spain and Italy).

 

I'll take a taxi to the cruise terminal; as I recall, it's not far.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay there before. I appreciate the information about late meals in Spain and Italy.  I’d read about that in other threads but learning about the tapas in the rooftop bar, is really good information.  I did hear back from the hotel that we can indeed store our luggage there until our room is available.

That's good to know.  My flight gets in very early on the 27h.

 

The rooftop bar also is where the pool is.  The view from the roof is lovely.
