Move up bid amount question

Is the dollar amount you bid for an upgrade confined to the sliding scale or is there somewhere you can type in an amount?   Reason I ask is that I received an email for move up bid on a cruise later in 2023.   Im in a veranda and the lowest amount on the scale for each potential cabin upgrade when added to what I paid for the original veranda is more than what those potential cabins  would have cost me had i chosen that class of cabin when I originally booked.  Thanks.

You are confined to the min and maxes on that sliding scale.  It's always good to know your prices like you clearly do because move up is not always a good deal.

Yes, check out the sticked thread recording people's move-up bids on this board.  You will find a number of minimum bids that have been accepted.

I have found that the sliding scale is usually set to a number higher than the lowest bid possible (pretty sneeky). Make sure to slide the scale all the way to the left to see what the lowest bid amount is.

Sometimes you cannot go lower than the slider shows when you first open the page.

The sliding scale is an amount between 0 (no Bid) and then jumps to minimum bid and then goes up to the Maximum.    Just grab the bar and slide slightly to the right to see the minimum bid
