MSC Cruises A Good Value

I completed a 10 day cruise on the Davina in August 2022. I enjoyed it so much that I booked another cruise in November.  The Meraviglia was only half full the week before Thanksgiving!

I've tried all the big cruise lines and found MSC to have very nice ships and great prices.  I love their private island and being there at sunset is magical.  I am an avid snorkeler and was surprised at the variety of fish despite an actual reef.  Try snorkeling near any rocks and near the shark net near the ship.

There were tech glitches (no tv) on the Davina, but was fabulous on the Meraviglia.  I was able to complete a 2 hour Zoom staff meeting at sea with no issues!  🙂

Will sail wilth them again!

Agree with you on value. They are my new go-to cruise line. I am hopeful MSC expands their itinerary options and even US embarkation ports. Also agree with you on the private island. We booked another cruise on Seaside for August using a 30% off casino voucher and got a great deal on a YCI stateroom. I love the Mexico itinerary because it has an overnight and 2 full days at the island. There’s a lot to do there including hanging out at the lighthouse bar. The very center of the island is ripe for more development and I can see it turning into a nice little water park for the kiddos at some point in the future. I have some design ideas should MSC care to reach out to me, I’m happy to share for the bargain price of a free cruise! 😊

We definitely agree after sailing on the MSC Splendida in YC from Genoa. Comparing costs, the European cruises are less expensive plus visit the not so ho-hum touristy ports. In September we are sailing from Hamburg with DSIL aboard the MSC Preziosa and trying the Fantastica Experience as we wanted connecting staterooms.

Ocean Cay , MSC’s private island,  is a marine preserve.
There will not be any water park, amusement park developments on the island. They are looking to expand the sea turtle sanctuary.

Ahh that makes sense. Still wondering what they plan to do in the center of the island. Currently fenced off.

I most certainly hope it remains so.

If Ocean Cay becomes like the other cruise lines' islands, that will be a disincentive for us to stick with MSC.

Amen to that!

That is exactly why we love OC. Some of the other cruise line’s  private islands have turned into amusement parks. I don’t get it.

The beaches are beautiful the water is so clear and inviting not sure why people need a water park when the natural beauty far outshines any kind of water slide.

Keep the waters slides on the ships I say !!

I loved RCIs private island Coco Cay pre  amusement arcade development,  I haven't been since the changes but videos friends posted of the swim up bar with wall to wall bodies drinking in the pool reminded me of club 18-30s holidays in Magaluf ! Google it 😆.

Agree!

We were on one of the first cruises to Coco Cay and we loved it. They’ve completely ruined it since then.

It is the MSC Foundation Marine Conservation Center.

Here is a video of the groundbreaking about a year ago. Last I was there it looks like they completed part of it. Not sure what they have left.
