Camp carnival question

I'm reading on the Carnival site that you have to sign the kids up ahead of time for camp carnival . I have always waited till I got on the ship to sign them up . Has something changed ?

I don't know the answer to your specific question, but what do you have to lose by signing them up early?

 

Camp Carnival is included in the fare, and signing them up early guarantees your kid a spot.  You can always opt out later.

So simple to sign them up when you check in online.

when we got to camp the first time, they looked up our name,

and said see you later, no fuss.

 

and like the PP said, what do you have to lose…

if you end up not using camp, nothing.

Well, if you don't sign them up online when you check in, I *think* you can still use it. I highly doubt they will tell you that you can't.  However, it is part of the check in process and takes about 20 extra seconds so I don't see why you wouldn't do that rather than take time away from your cruise once you are on board...

You can sign them up on board but it makes it simple to sign them up online. Go to check in the first day and it takes only a couple minutes.

Wouldn't it make sense if technology allows it to have you sign in early?

The staff now has a much better idea of the count for each of the different groups. They can make better decisions on staffing, maybe a better understanding of families who may have kids that may want to level up or level down. I can think of a myriad of reasons why their internal decision making can better improve the customers experience if they have this information up front rather than on the same day.

It makes checking them in the first time a whole lot smoother. It also makes those of us who checked them in online earlier a lot happier so the line doesn't take as long haha.

We signed up on the ship on embarkation day. It can still be done in that way.
