Rika1 Posted December 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2022 I noticed this morning that the internet was faster and wondered if Starlink had been installed overnight. Asked at the iLounge a short time ago and they said it was just installed last night and they are testing it. Should be officially live starting with the Dec. 30 departure from Ft. Lauderdale. I wish they could have gotten to it a week earlier. Premium wifi has been horrible this week - a Christmas cruise with an overloaded ship, lots of kids, and bad weather, so it stands to reason that it couldn’t keep up. I was going to do live posts from the ship but this is the first time I’ve even been able to log on to the site. More later. 1
Cruise a holic Posted December 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2022 Since we will be sailing on the 30th, glad to hear it has been installed. Hope it works well! Sorry you missed it.
zanderblue Posted December 28, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2022 We were on Apex December 10th-17th and internet connection was so poor as to be practically unusable. High time they improved the system!
Rare Jim_Iain Posted December 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2022 We were on Solstice just after it was installed for a B2B. First cruise it was marginally better than the standard internet. Suddenly near the end of the 1st cruise the speed started hitting over 100 meg. I asked and they said they had been working on tuning it.
