We'll be on SS Endeavour Antarctica this Nov.22.24.

We will book our int'l flight to/from Santiago and we are trying to find info about when is a good day/time for our return.

Disembarkation day (on Dec.02), from what we have read, it seems that you disembark late afternoon, then you take that same afternoon/night a charter flight to Punta Arenas?

Then I guess we must secure hotel accommodation that night in Punta Arenas?

Next, the following day (on Dec.03) Silversea puts you on a charter flight to Santiago in the afternoon?

Is that the standard itinerary whether permitting?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like you are on an Antarctica Bridge itinerary, so my experience on Endeavour (18-day including South Georgia and Falklands) probably is not applicable. That said, it looks like everything you are asking is on the SS website under the itinerary. It should also be in your account on my.silversea. From what is published on the web, you disembark on December 1. See screenshots below.

Thanks all for the info shared, we are booked on the Feb 2025 bridge because we just came back from India and could not or would not jump on another trip right away.  I just want to add something to the Silversea air, originally I was going to book D2D but then remembering the nightmare I had with several South American flights home on other trips, not to mention the limo ride to/from airport to home is worthless to me.  Not sure if things have changed now, you have to do US customs and Immigration at first port of entry into USA, so if you happen to fly out of Miami or Houston or NYC then may be it is fine, but I fly out from SFO so if we fly with any US carrier we would be connecting via Houston, Miami or LAX coming home, likely needing to claim our luggage and clear customs and check back in again even with the same airline/booking.  So for me the best choice is Copa connecting via PTY (AeroMexco works for us too but I want Star Alliance miles), decent lounge and straight back to SFO from there, not to mention lie-flat seats which LATAM or UA never offered.  I paid quite a bit of money to sit in basically premium economy seats that they call First Class, not to mention they are always late.  So do your research if you plan to do D2D.

@rayho94066 last year when we booked D2D Silversea air routed us from Santiago to Toronto, Canada to San Francisco. This was in January. We would have accepted any of the US airports you mentioned but not that crazy route. We canceled and did our own air, United via Houston. Coming back into the US was no problem from Houston.

Same here. Better flights and Polaris lie-flat seats and lounge.

@Cheer Dad   Hi!  Thanks for the info about your trip.   I am going to Antarctica (but not on the bridge itinerary).   I am curious about your comment about penguin poop.   Is there a place where you can just hose your pants down to avoid bringing penguin poop to your room?   I'm really concerned about the smell.   They are cute creatures...but I'm not sure how much tolerance I'll have for the smell.   Ultimately, I decided that I had to try this and if I went and couldn't tolerate it, I always had the option to stay on the ship.   But I need to be sure there are ways to clean the poop without touching it.  🙂

I am flying back to SFO so I need to clear customs and immigration at first port of entry, meaning Houston, Miami or LAX for UA, Delta or AA.  I have Global Entry so immigration is nothing to me but I need to and hate to claim luggage and check back in again.  I've done Polaris out of SFO to Asia and not impressed with the SFO Polaris lounge or seat, I will take Qatar QSuite over Polaris anytime.  So I will take Copa and spend couple days in Panama City.  Also, for the person about penguin poop, I've been told they would hose off whatever you need and you can keep them in the mud room, no need to bring any outerwear back to your room.  But bottom line, D2D is not a good deal unless you can dictate what route you want on the first go, even that, it is at least a few thousand dollars cheaper if you book your own, speaking of Business class in my case only.

We were there late in the season, so lots of Guano.  Never really had a problem.  But there were some mud issues.  A quick hose down in the mud room did the trick.  I also cuffed my pants so that they didn't touch the ground much.  You can also swish around in the ocean water before getting on the zodiacs.
