Our butler was definitely lacking as the meals we ordered en suite (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were not delivered course by course by rather all as once. Hot items were warm and cold items were room temp. There was no over the top service from the bulter even though we were in what is classified as an upper suite even after talking with the Retreat Concierge staff. On the the other hand the service in Luminae and on the Retreat Deck was outstanding. Our room steward was a rock star and we believe he would be an excellent butler. We are booked on the Equinox in May in a Sky Suite. We have lowered our expectations in terms of what we are expecting from the butler. Did you discuss the issue with the suite manager? Retreat concierge staff are on the same level as the butlers. The suite manager is in charge of both. Delivery of dinner items is supposed to be course by course. These sorts of issues are best resolved on the ship at the time. 1
Rare DisneyJen Posted January 8, 2023 #27 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Indeed we did @Happy Cruiser 6143 Part of the issue, it seems to me, has to do with the expectations of those who are new to cruising in suites or on premium lines. We saw our butler being treated rudely by the family in PH who though he was their personal and sole butler. We have adjusted our expectations while on Celebrity in a suite. Rare DisneyJen Posted January 8, 2023 #29 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Wow ... not even close for us on the Summit @groryjm We never had saw anything like you posted even when we hosted cocktails in our suite with another suite level couple in our suite with two days notice. We're a relatively low maintenance couple who have sailed in suites on SeaDream. Seabourn, Disney, Princess, RCCL and Celebrity, At this point the only reason we are sailing Celebrity in a Sky Suite on Equinox in May is because we have FCC from our cruise last on Celebrity. All I am suggesting is that folks adjust their expectations ...
