Show with Crew/Officer introductions? and other minor Daily Planner q's.

Can anyone give insight onto what type of show/event in the Daily Planner app is most likely to be the one where the Cruise Director and possibly some of the Officers introduce themselves, if that's still a thing? I don't see any specialized events on several itineraries in the app marketed as one, and watching the occasional trip report, it seems that when a meet & greet occurs, its usually a part of a theater of some kind where the appearance doesn't seemed to be mentioned in the description? I'm wondering if this kind of thing happens only on longer itineraries.

Also, another question regarding the Daily Planner. Is it common for ship events and activities to only appear on the Celebrity Today print edition or on-board ship schedule, and NOT on the app's Daily Planner? I saw an example earlier that had a quick complimentary 2 hour ship tour on embarkation day, but I browsed through several random daily planners for several random trips but never saw things like that mentioned. Thanks in advance!

The Daily Planner is not complete or even accurate until a day or 2 before boarding.

There is a show at which the CD introduces the Captain and the Sr. Officers.  It is either the 1st or  2nd night.  Someone else can probably confirm which night, we don't go to most shows.  This isn't a meet and greet type of event, rather a on stage introduction.

On a recent cruise on the Edge, in the Retreat, they had a meet and greet cocktail reception with the captain and few other senior officers.  I did not go, not my thing, though a few others on board told me it was well attended by Retreat guests.  One night in the theatre, the CD did introduce the captain, but he was sitting in the audience and just stood up and waved , some on the way out were saying how nice it was that the captain came to the show...made me chuckle.

I'm just a regular peasant in a veranda, so the retreat's not possible unfortunately, thanks for the dp though!

I did figure that which why I browsed several trips that supposedly left today or the very next ones in a few days, nothing stood out though.

I'll discuss my experience on the Millennium in November.

Our introduction to the Captain and the other top officers was done on the second night in the main theater after the production show.

On Silhouette always before the show. After seems odd as half the audience disappears as soon as the show ends to get to the bars, casino sky lounge or wherever. Frankly if you miss it you can see it on the TV.

It was slick the way they did it for us - end show, entertainers receive applause, quickly get off stage, and then comes the CD who introduced the Captain, who introduced the rest of the officers.  I'm sure people left during this introduction, but it's almost as if it was part of the show.  Here's a picture of part of how it worked:

Exactly as Silhouette but pre show. For us personally there was a little twist as when we arrived at the theatre the Officers were already lined up waiting to make their grand entrance. Several officers said good evening and as we reached the head of the line Julie, Director of Guest Relations, turned to the Captain and said in a loud voice "It's ok Captain we can start now as Mr and Mrs D have arrived". I know many regular cruisers know Julie and her wicked sense of humour especially during her performances in Liars Club. For those who don't she is also "the voice in the lifts/elevators" on most Celebrity ships and a few Royal ones. We also love her Moto in Guest Services of " If I can't fix it, it ain't  broke".

Thanks for the perspective and the heads up on Julie.  I'm pretty sure I haven't met her or been on one of her ships.

Trust me if had you wouldn't forget her. Her briefings for B2B guests are legendary. Especially her "instructions" that unfortunately due to a change in local regulations all chocolate purchased during the cruise must be handed in and destroyed. One passenger responded by giving her beautifully wrapped box of very expensive chocs. Needless to say the box was empty. Julie's response was to deliver a bottle of one of the ships most expensive wines to the guests cabin. Of course the bottle was also empty.
