NCteacherlovescruising Posted January 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2023 Are the beaches in Barcelona nice enough to warrant a day at one? I LOVE lounging on a beautiful beach with clear water. Was thinking maybe we could spend one day before on cruise there. If so, which beach is best? Will the water be warm enough mid June to get in? IWantToLiveOverTheSea Posted April 6, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2023 Google Barceloneta - beach area in Barcelona. I've been there, but not to lie on the beach, just to play tourist there pre-cruise.

The average sea temperature in June is 70 F degrees. Max is 74 F. https://www.seatemperature.org/europe/spain/barcelona-june.htm The Med is not the Caribbean. Barcelona is at about the same latitude as NYC. But the beaches are nice. Best time to swim is August. Edited April 6, 2023 by marazul

Rare alserrod Posted August 28, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2023 For people who want a beach around Barcelona. It is true there are beaches in Barcelona city. Just in the north and you can ride on Line 4 with metro to its surroundings. But for a day beach I will recommend to.... - get Line 3 in the port (station of Drassanes) to Sants station - get Commuter through Sant Vicenc de Calders (via the beach, not the inner line) - stop at Platja de Casteldefells Surf on Google. It is the beach you have just south of the Airport. You can go far away. Just find on google maps and there are some other beaches closed to a commuter station (it runs every 30 minutes) and they will be more peaceful than in Barcelona 1
